Las Vegas Tribute to Rhythm and Blues Legend Ruth Brown

A tribute to rhythm and blues legend Ruth Brown will be on April 9 at the Bootlegger Bistro in Las Vegas. ruth-brown

The Tony Award-winning Brown, who also won a Grammy, died at age 78 on November 17, 2006 in Henderson, Nevada. 

Her original Bootlegger band and son Ronnie McPhatter will be among the large number of musicians attending,  including Dennis Bono, Regi Brown, Jimmy Castor, Sonny Charles of the Checkmates, Wendy Edmead of The Pointer Sisters, and Earl and Sonny Turner of The Platters. 

A $5 admission donation will be charged, with all proceeds going to The Society of Singers.  The Bootlegger Bistro is located at 7700 Las Vegas Blvd. South, No. 1, in Las Vegas (702-736-4939).
