The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas had to cancel the April 24 and 25 performances of late night talk show host Jay Leno. The 58-year-old entertainer checked himself into Providence St. Joseph Medical Centre hospital on Thursday with what was diagnosed as possible food poisoning. Leno was also forced to cancel two live episode tapings of his Tonight Show – a first since he took over the Tonight Show reigns in 1992.
(May 4 UPDATE: Reportedly, Leno was not sick or anything, just plain wornout, needing to take the time off.)
Leno will be leaving late night in May for a prime-time show set to debut this September. Tonight Show hosting duties will be passed to Conan O’Brien.
No replacement dates have been announced for Leno’s Mirage performances.
