Sneak into Las Vegas Casino/Hotel Pools for FREE!

Las Vegas tourists and residents alike enjoy splashing around in pools and trying to cool off  as temperatures hit the triple digits.  But with our economy languishing in the doldrums, it’s sometimes hard to find enough dough to pay for the experience.  So, here’s our Las Vegas Backstage Access listing of the most sneak-friendly pools in Las Vegas.  Enter at your own risk!

Tropicana – 3801 S. Las Vegas Blvd.   Start at the Reno Avenue entrance at the southwest side of the Tropicana.  It’s maybe not the classiest place, but it’s gigantic, including a swim-up bar, blackjack tables, and two separate hot tubs.

Flamingo – 3555 S. Las Vegas Blvd.  Go in the parking garage, walk down the metal staircase, go across the street and head directly into the extremely crowded pool area.  Could be there is staff members at entrance, but usually not a problem to enter.

Riviera – 2901 S. Las Vegas Blvd.  Their very deep pool isn’t fancy with waterfalls, bars and such, but very relaxing.  They don’t ask to see a room key to get a beach towel, just think of a name and room number and write ’em down before you enter.

Artisan – 1501 W. Sahara Ave.  Valet park your cark and saunter through the lobby.  Features a cool grotto with foliage and comfy lounge furniture.  Not a bar at the pool, but you can use the pool phone to call the bar and a bartender will bring your cocktails poolside.

Golden Nugget – 129 Fremont Street  Security guards stand sentry at the door, but just look like you’re going swimming, bring your own towels, and wait for families to go through and follow them.  Huge waterslide that goes through a shark tank.  Very luxurious with cushioned deck chairs and VIP areas.

Don’t Expect Paris Hilton Back in Las Vegas Anytime Soon

BFFThe second season of  “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” premieres Tuesday on MTV, but instead of hanging out and partying in Las Vegas, the filthy rich socialite heiress has plans for finding her next hot and fabulous cohort–in the United Arab Emirates.

According to Variety, Hilton will head to Dubai later this month to begin the 17-day shooting process, with the finale shooting in Los Angeles. Hilton’s current boyfriend, Doug Reinhardt, is likely to appear in the show as well. (However, her other boyfriend, Real Madrid soccer star Christiano Ronaldo, appears to prefer the Las Vegas roulette tables, seen trying his luck at the Palms Casino last week.)

“Paris Hilton’s My New BFF-Dubai,” will be produced by Lionsgate and Ish Entertainment, who have struck a deal with the Dubai-based Uniqon. The deal is part of a larger Lionsgate initiative to locate new international partners.

Michael Hirschorn, co-founder of Ish Entertainment, is enthusiastic about the project.  “I love it for the sheer wildcard aspect of it,” he said. “It’s so out of the ordinary.”

The show will include Hilton’s experiences and reactions to Arab culture and society, as well as the girl-on-girl competition that the show’s format typically features. Half of the potential BFF’s will be from the Middle East, and half from elsewhere who are currently living in Dubai.

While testing the ladies’ character to see who fits her style, Hilton’s going to have to drastically tone down her behavior. Hirschorn said the Dubai production won’t be as risqué as the American and U.K. versions, given the cultural norms in the Middle East.

Let’s see how long the party gal fares without alcohol, swearing and plunging necklines.

Garth Brooks Roping In New Las Vegas Deal?

As previously reported by Las Vegas Backstage Access, Garth Brooks poo-pooed any plans he had of performing in Las Vegas, supposedly working out a deal with Steve Wynn.  Was it a smokescreen?  GarthBrooks

On Monday at the Wynn Encore he had a surprise concert for 600 to 800 VIP guests.  The guests arrived at the theater to find black hats on their seats.  Out came Brooks, who put on a full concert without a band behind him.

Some say that Brooks already has a Encore contract in his hands, but the sticking point is ticket prices.   Brooks, like Bruce Springsteen before him, apparently isn’t comfortable with “Vegas” ticket pricing- at least not yet.
