Tony Bennett’s next Las performance will reportedly be sometime in January at the Las Vegas Hilton. The ageless crooner has also just signed a new “unbelievable” $10 million contract with Sony-Columbia.
Apparently, the contract is to reissue songs and albums from Tony’s illustrious past. And if Tony, 83, cuts new albums, Sony will spend $1 million in marketing for each one, according to Bennett.
“I’ve been there for 60 years. I’ve been there longer than any other artist and they have a full catalog of all my albums from 1950 to now,” Tony says.
“They said they’d like me to do 12 more albums,” he says. “With each album, they’ll promote it with $1 million. But if I don’t want to do it, they’ll still give me the $10 million. I don’t have to produce anything to fulfill the contract. It’s really the best contract ever written.”
