D.J. Hollywood will hit the turntables to kick-off the weekly event in celebration of industry’s A-list tonight, Jan. 6, with a birthday celebration at Eva Langoria Parker’s new nighclub, Eve, located in the new CityCenter, for DJ Hollywood.
Eve is planning a celebrity event each Wednesday throughout the year.
Those with local Nevada ID will receive complimentary cover and other select offerings, such as specials on bottle service.
Eve envelopes guests in ultimate luxury with lavish VIP booths, floor-to-ceiling windows and 50-foot-tall arched ceilings that accentuate the glamorous interior. Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman will celebrate his 70th birthday in grand style on Friday evening, July 31 with a public birthday gala street party on Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas.
“It’ll be a blast!” Goodman said, whose enroute to completing his third and final four-year term as mayor. “I’m inviting everyone to leave their worries behind and join me for a one-of-a-kind evening that will benefit three local charities. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than to share it with the citizens of fabulous Las Vegas!”
Mayor Goodman’s 70th Birthday Celebration will be a Fremont Street Experience “street party” at the First Street Stage plaza next to Golden Nugget from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, July 31. There will be special entertainment and appearances from performers throughout Las Vegas and a ceremony on stage with Mayor Goodman will take place from 8:30-9 p.m. Admission is a $20 donation and will be sold at the entrance gate.
Charities will receive 100 percent of money donated with funds raised going to Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, Opportunity Village and Three Square.
Bombay Sapphire Gin, the Mayor’s gin of choice, will be the drink of choice at Goodman’s 70th birthday party. In celebration of the occasion, special “Good-Man Martinis” will be served inside the party on Fremont Street Experience. With the $20 charitable donation, street party participants will receive two “Good-Man Martinis” or other gin mixed drinks made with Bombay Sapphire, plus a commemorative T-shirt and button.
Fremont Street Experience is producing a special tribute to Mayor Goodman that will play during the ceremony on Viva Vision, arguably the world’s largest video screen.

Representatives from Disney theme parks will be in Las Vegas this Friday, February 6, at Town Square, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. to encourage people to visit their attractions.
As part of Disney’s “What Will You Celebrate?” promotion, they will give away grand prizes of all-expense-paid vacations for four to a Disney park of the winner’s choice.
Each person who registers for the promotion will receive a free admission to a Disney park on his or her birthday and an opportunity to win a variety of electronic prizes. Valid birth documentation is required.
Clark County today officially kicks off a yearlong celebration of its 100th birthday with the opening of centennial exhibit at the Clark County Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway, at 5:30 p.m.
Throughout the rest of 2009, a series of workshops, exhibits, and other celebratory events are planned.
On the first Friday of each month, a free roundtable discussion at the Clark County government center will explore such issues as racial segregation, women in Las Vegas, the country’s mining history, architecture and neon in the county, the mob, entertainers, Hispanics, and the military.
