A-List Musicians Join Virtuoso Michael Legrand at MGM Grand in Las Vegas

Michael Legrand is a virtuoso musician with few equals.  The three-time Academy Award winner and five-time Grammy winner started his lifelong dedication to music at the ripe age of 11, where he began his study at the Paris Conservatoire. 

Legrand has composed more than 200 film and television scores for directors, including Jean-Luc Godard, Richard Brooks, Clint Eastwood and Robert Altman, and has recorded more than 100 albums with international music celebrities. 

On March 27 he will be blending his magic for his 50th Anniversary Concert Tribute at 8 p.m. in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. 

Legrand will conduct a 66-piece orchestra and be showcasing the evening’s entertainers:  George Benson, Melissa Manchester, Jerry Lewis, Dionne Warwick, Andy Williams, Patti Page, Frank Sinatra Jr. and Steve Lawrence. 

Actors Jon Voight and Jennifer O’Neill will host the gala, which will air at a later undetermined date as a made-for-TV concert special. 

Perhaps the biggest news is the rumored surprise appearance by Sting.

Jerry Lewis’ Love Child Plans First Visit to Las Vegas

Suzan Minoret, 56, who goes by the name Susan Lewis, believing recent DNA tests that prove she is the daughter of iconic comedy legend Jerry Lewis is planning her first trip to Las Vegas on April 25 to appear at the Earth Day Indoor Environment Celebration at JW Marriott’s in Summerlin.  The event benefits children’s indoor health environment education programs in Nevada.

Though it’s the Philadelphia woman’s first trip to Las Vegas, Jerry Lewis has called Las Vegas home for decades. 

Lewis’ son, musician Gary Lewis recently submitted to DNA tests and results indicated an 88.7 percent probability that the woman is related to Gary Lewis.

Jerry Lewis Has A Love Child?

jerrylewisDNA test results, according to United Press International, recently revealed that Suzan Minoret, also known as Susan Lewis, and Jerry Lewis’ oldest son, Gary, share a very rare DNA marker that indicates with an 88.7 percent probability that they are half brother and sister- and iconic comedy legend Jerry Lewis is indeed their biological father.

 

Jerry Lewis, a longtime Las Vegas resident, has never confirmed or denied that Susan is his daughter. 

 

Asked for comment, the comedy and film star’s spokeswoman, Candi Cazau, said, “Mr. Lewis has no comment – period.”

Comedy Icon Jerry Lewis Garners First Oscar

This momentous honor proves that if you work at something hard and long enough, it will eventually pay off.   Comedy icon and Las Vegas resident Jerry Lewis, 82-years-young, finally garnered his Oscar.  Lewis, who has never even been nominated for an Oscar before, will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award by the Board of jerry-lewisGovernors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the 81st Academy Awards on February 22.    

Jerry Lewis will be presented with an Oscar statuette to honor his decades of work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association- an association where he’s been the chairman and their leading spokesman since 1952. 

Jerry Lewis’ untiring drive, ambition, and coordinative efforts to find a cure for muscular dystrophy have raised more than $2 billion since the 1966 kickoff of his annual Labor Day Telethon.

Lewis won a Golden Globe award in 1966 for his role in “Boeing (707) Boeing (707)” for Best Motion Picture Actor in a Musical/Comedy.
