They opted for the Michael Jordan package and the wedding set the couple back more than $500, but it included 36 digital pictures (ready to post to MySpace) and a DVD of the ceremony (perfect for e-Bay, though a DVD of the wedding night would sell better).

Richie confirmed the nuptials on Twitter, saying, “Last night I got married to an amazing person and we are extremely excited to share our lives together.”

The newlyweds after their wedding boogied down to the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas to celebrate their union as any respectable couple looking to get their new life together off to a good start would: posing for the paparazzi at Wyclef Jean’s afterparty at Vanity.

Paris Hilton Gets Married in Las Vegas

It’s been awhile since the ditzy, aging socialite Paris Hilton has been in the news.   Over the weekend, however, Hilton reportedly got hitched in Las Vegas at the iconic Little Church of the West wedding chapel.

Just don’t get all excited- it was all staged for publicity during a mock wedding.  The faux groom was Piers Morgan, from “Britain’s Got Talent.”

Hilton — and her revolting rat-looking dog — were dressed in white for the occasion. And there were plenty of witnesses- all dressed as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe.

The wedding will air Jan. 2 on VH1’s “Piers Morgan” show.

Thousands Head to Las Vegas to get Hitched on 09/09/09

What does Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, Elvis Presley and Priscilla Anne Beaulieu, and Mickey Rooney and his eight brides all have in common?  They, and many other celebrities like them, were all hitched in Las Vegas. weddings

Weddings are one of the primary reasons why many make the trek to Sin City.  And the Wedding Destination Capital of the World is more than just a hotspot reserved for celebrities or those wanting a wedding that’s scandalous and spontantaneous.   Las Vegas weddings are growing increasingly popular in the most respectable circles.

Bridal couples and Las Vegas also have something else in common:  They love their number sequences.  Last year it was August 8th, 2008 which drew in huge crowds because in Asian cultures 8’s a lucky number.  Two years ago it was all about the 07/07/07 which is the jackpot-y-est of all dates.

Many times, the pros of having a Las Vegas wedding outweigh the cons, particularly in today’s current economic reality, in which many Americans are hemorrhaging money and watching all their pennies.

It’s hard not to find a Las Vegas casino or wedding venue that is not getting in the spirit of 09/09/09 weddings.  Whether it be Cupids Wedding Chapel, Little White Chapel, or the Riviera, all are offering some package deal to draw in thousands of wedding couples that will, hopefully, improve long-sagging wedding industry revenues.

On the haute style end, Bellagio is offering a very special package.  For $5,000, the bride and groom can treat guests and themselves to a wedding that includes one hour of chapel time, a bride’s bouquet and groom’s boutonniere, two mantle floral arrangements, bottle of Dom Perignon bubbly, wedding certificate, an officiant, rose petals and more.

Caesar’s Palace offer packages that fit any budget and that offer up the outdoor plaza or the Venus Garden as settings.  They also have a category called “Unforgettables.” These are the details that personalize a wedding. With the help of a wedding planner, couples can design a unique wedding cake or even arrange for a live character such as Cleopatra or Roman guards to attend the wedding.

Arguably one of the most romantic of all wedding sites in Las Vegas is the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Casino and Hotel.  Although only big enough to host 12 guests, the Eiffel Tower Observation Deck allows couples to wed night or day, with the bejeweled Las Vegas vista behind them.

If you more into the big crowd feeling, on September 9th, 2009 at 9:09 pm, 99 couples are paying $99.09 for the privilege of getting married on the Stratosphere’s enclosed observation deck, enjoy a champagne celebration, get themselves superimposed in a Stratosphere souvenir photo and get two tickets to ride the roller coaster.

Despite the spontaneity that can come with a Las Vegas wedding, it is important to allot enough time to get the marriage license at the Marriage Bureau at 201 Clark Ave. The fee is $55 in cash. Anyone applying for a license must be at least 18 years old and must be able to prove their age. Social Security numbers are also required.

For those of you that can’t make this memorable date, don’t forget THE largest Las Vegas wedding convention – the Las Vegas Bridal Spectacular – will be August 21 and 22 at Cashman Center.  The event offers all the wedding resources under one roof to make your special day a lifetime memory.

Viva Las Vegas!

The 48-year-old received a proposal from her boyfriend, real estate executive Andy Friedman, while the two were vacationing in Hawaii.

According to the website, a black swan named Raymond delivered the 4-carat engagement ring on Stanger’s birthday.

The host of the popular Bravo matchmaking show said that she and her fiancé are still deciding where to wed, but she’s partial to a destination wedding in Las Vegas in 2010.

“I want to elope, and he wants a big wedding. I’m like, ‘Let’s go to Vegas!'” Stanger told Usmagazine.com.

Stanger founded the Millionaire’s Club in Beverly Hills in 2000 as a way to find partners for extremely wealthy men. On her reality show, part of the fun is that she gives the men makeovers (both physically and emotionally) before they are considered “date-ready.”

Marriage Certificates Plummet in “Wedding Destination Capital of the World” — Las Vegas

Las Vegas is one of the most, if not THE most, popular destination wedding locales in the world.  The continuing decline of Las Vegas visitors has impacted the quantity of Las Vegas weddings performed-  those on budget appear to being staying closer to home for a more cost-effective option.

According to data released by the Clark County Recorder’s Office, the number of marriage certificates recorded continues to decline.  In April, approximately 8,500 marriage licenses were recorded, which represents a 1.6 percent decline compared to the same month in 2008.   Even more dramatic, the number of April marriage certificates recorded is down 10.3 percent compared to the same month in 2007 (9,512 certificates recorded), and down a significant 17.8 percent compared to the same month in 2005 (10,370 certificates recorded).

‘Weddingmooning’ in Las Vegas on Valentine’s Day

What’s a “weddingmoon?”  A weddingmoon is a new word for a growing trend to combine your solemn marriage weddingvows with the fun of the honeymoon.  Las Vegas, the destination wedding capital of the world, remains at the top of the weddingmoon list by offering sumptuous locations, unique ways to say your “I Do’s,” and cap it off with affordable reception celebrations.  And this year, with Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday, the Las Vegas wedding chapels and locations are gearing up for extra business and starting to advertise many online specials and hotel combo discounts.

If you want something kitschy, you could consider having your vows from the same Elvis impersonator who wed ‘Entourage’ star Kevin Dillon to actress Jane Stuart.  Or you could select a poolside wedding at the Bellagio and follow in the footsteps of “King of Queensactress Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan.

However, more visitors are opting for a different view of the Las Vegas wedding this year- making it not just a location to visit, but their complete destination wedding spot.  And, if the Valley of Fire and Mount Charleston areas in Las Vegas aren’t the backdrop you’re looking for, you could trying look down instead – from the gondola of a hot air balloon during a sunrise or sunset marriage ceremony.

There are, of course, many stories of quick and failed marriages that line the chapel walls – Nicky Hilton and Todd Meister married at the Vegas Wedding Chapel on August 15, 2004 and just two months later the party was over.  Yet, successful unions have also begun along the Vegas Strip.  Look at the longevity of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward married at the El Rancho hotel-casino in 1958 or Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa who married May 1, 1996- at what Miss Ripa calls the “chapel of cheese”.

There is one thing to know if a Vegas weddingmoon is in your future:  At least one year before you plan your walk down the aisle bring some I.D. and $55 to the Las Vegas Marriage Bureau at 201 Clark Ave between the hours of 8am to 12am.  But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try now, but the earlier the better.  Because while you can gamble on everything from a horse race to your future 24×7 in Vegas, the county offices will be closed after midnight.

And, if you need some professional photography or videography of your special day to last a lifetime, don’t forget to contact us:  http://www.BackstageAccessVegas.com   and please complete the contact link. We do hundreds of weddings each year, tailoring to your needs, while being very economical in these challenging times.
